No. The ledger is permanent. Sequential IDs are never reused. You can delete your entire account, which removes all your exits, but individual exits cannot be edited or removed.
You are assigned an auto-generated username (user_1, user_2, etc.). You can optionally add a display name in settings. Your email is never shown publicly.
Yes. Each exit gets its own sequential ID. You can record up to 5 exits per day (rate limit to prevent spam).
You can record a corrected exit, but the old record remains. This is by design. Sequential ID gaps prove the authenticity of the ledger.
Think of it like accounting: you don't erase entries, you add corrections. Quitting is final. Exits are permanent.
Everyone. All exits are public. EXIT is not a private journal—it's a public dataset. If you need privacy, do not record the exit.
Go to Settings and click "Delete account." This removes all your exits and your user record. This action is permanent.
No. Once an exit is recorded, all data is frozen. However, platform aliases (e.g., "Twitter" → "X") are built into the system to handle name changes.
Not yet. API access for researchers, analysts, and businesses is planned for Q1 2026. Contact us if you need early access.
EXIT is free for individuals, always. We plan to license data and reports to businesses, researchers, and institutions. No ads. No tracking.
All your exits are visible on your dashboard. Data export features are not yet implemented. All data is public, so you can view it anytime at /record/[id].
Rate limits (5 exits/day) and Turnstile spam protection prevent most abuse. Obvious spam or TOS violations can be flagged for admin review. Contact support@getexits.com to report issues.
Contact support@getexits.com immediately. While exits are permanent by design, we will manually remove content that violates our Terms of Service (e.g., PII, harassment, illegal content). This is rare and handled case-by-case.
EXIT is a ledger, not a diary. Permanence is the feature. It gives the data integrity and cultural weight.
Analysts, journalists, and researchers can cite EXIT knowing the dataset won't change retroactively. Sequential ID gaps prove authenticity. This is what makes EXIT different from every other tracker.
EXIT is an independent project. Contact us at hello@getexits.com
